I received an email from UKVI saying, “Thank you for your Visa Application which has arrived at the UKVI Decision Making Centre and is now awaiting consideration.”
I completed my biometrics at VFS Global on 30-Oct-2024, and my application was forwarded to UKVI that same day. Then on 8-Nov-2024, I got this email.
For anyone who’s gone through this before with a UK 6-month standard visitor visa, could you share your experience? How long did it take after this email to get a decision? Any insights on what to expect would be really helpful for me and others in the same boat. Thank you!
Hi everyone I’m Jordanian and I have a UK ETA thats valid for 2 years multi entry but I actually need a visa instead So I applied for the standard 6 month visa through VFS did my fingerprint appointment on 1st November and got an email that my passport is with UKVI They said it could take around 3 weeks but I still havent heard anything yet
Any idea when I might expect a reply Also if my application gets refused can I reapply right away with the priority service Thanks
According to the UK standard visa processing times, decisions are typically made within three weeks. The email you received indicates that your application is now with a Visa Officer for review. Based on the timing, I’d estimate you may hear back from UKVI around 20-21 Nov.
If your visa is approved, UKVI will first send an email saying, “I can confirm a decision has been made on your visa application. You need to wait until you receive confirmation from UKVI telling you the decision and explaining what you need to do next.” If you chose to keep your passport during processing, they will ask you to submit it for visa stamping if approved. Otherwise, if the visa is denied, you’ll typically receive an email explaining the refusal details once you collect your passport.
In summary, you’ll most likely know the outcome once you collect your passport and see whether the visa has been stamped or not.
